Hoʻopuka Studio designs and builds fast, hand-crafted websites for Hawaiʻi small businesses — restaurants, shops, trades, and services. Menus, booking, and ordering your customers can actually use, without the agency price tag.
The first look is free: we study your current site and show you exactly what we would change. No obligation, no sales script.
hoh-oh-POO-kah — Hawaiian for to publish, to bring forth into the light. That's the whole job of a small-business website, so we named the studio after it.
Most small businesses we look at do great work and have at least one of these quietly working against them:
Hours changed, prices changed, you moved — but Google and your website still say the old thing. A customer who shows up to a closed door doesn't blame the website. They just don't come back.
Almost everyone looking for a business like yours is standing somewhere with a phone in hand. If the site crawls, breaks, or buries the important part, they pick the next name on the list.
Book, order, call, get directions — that's why they opened your site. If that action is three taps deep or a PDF they have to pinch-zoom, it quietly costs you business every week.
New hours, a new service, a holiday special — each one means calling someone, waiting, and paying for an "update." So the site slowly stops matching the business.
One fixed scope, agreed in writing before any money moves. No hourly meter, no surprise line items.
Your total time across all four steps is about an hour. The rest is on us.
We study your current site and your Google listing, then show you what we'd change and why — before you spend anything.
Fixed price and scope in writing. Half down by bank transfer to start. Nothing is built before that.
About two weeks. You see the finished site on a private preview and approve it before it goes live — the balance is due at that approval, not before.
The editor is yours, set up in your name, and we walk you through it. Most owners update their own hours, menus, and photos from then on. Rather never log in? That's what Care is for.
The same price for every business of this size, quoted before work starts. Hawaiʻi GET is shown as its own line on the invoice — it's the state's, not a markup.
Half to start, half when you approve the finished preview. Includes everything in "What a rebuild includes" — your editor setup and handover training too — plus migration of your domain and a launch check on every page, phone and desktop.
Optional. We keep an eye on the technical side — hosting, security, backups — run a monthly check that your hours, offerings, and Google listing still match reality, and make your content changes for you within two business days. Skip it and run the editor yourself; you can start Care anytime. Cancel with 30 days' notice — you keep the site, the domain, and everything on it.
No hourly billing. No holding your domain hostage. If we ever part ways, everything is already in your name.
Yes — completely. The domain, the hosting account, and every word and photo on the site are registered or transferred to you. We build on your property; we don't rent it back to you.
Yes — that's the point. Your site comes with a simple editor (Sanity) for hours, menus, services, and photos, set up in your name, and we walk you through it at handover. Most changes take a couple of minutes. And if you'd rather never log in, the Care plan has us make the changes for you.
About two weeks from the deposit, most of it on our side. We'll need your current offerings, any photos you love, and one short call.
Your services or menu as they should read today, your real hours, and about an hour of your time spread across the whole project. If the printed version is the accurate one, a clear photo of each page is enough to start.
Only if it's costing you customers — wrong hours, unreadable offerings, no clear way to book or buy. The first look is free either way, and if your current site is doing its job, we'll tell you that.
You get a full handover of files and accounts, and our help pointing your domain wherever you choose. The site keeps running — and the editor stays yours, so you keep updating it yourself. That's the deal, in writing, before you sign anything.
Send us your business name and current website. Within a few days you'll get a plain-language rundown of what we'd change, what it would cost (it's the price above), and what we'd leave alone. If it's not worth doing, we'll say so.
